Getting around by public transport

Public transport works well in Helsinki, and it is affordable. Please note that tickets are not sold on board, but must be purchased in advance either from a ticket machine or with the Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) app. Visit Tickets and fares | HSL.fi for more information. R-kiosks also sell single and day tickets.

From the airport to the city center

To travel from the airport to the city center, you need an ABC zone ticket, which costs €4.40 per adult. This single ticket is valid for 90 minutes. During this time, you can change vehicles within the mentioned zones. If you are staying in Helsinki for a longer time, you should get a day ticket (1–13 days) depending on the length of your trip.

Trains I and P

You can easily get from the airport to the Central Railway Station by train. You can choose either the I or P train. The journey takes 42 minutes by P train and 47 minutes by I train. Trains depart approximately every 8 minutes.

Bus 600

You can also get to the city center by bus number 600, which departs from the airport. The journey takes about 10 minutes longer than by train.

Taxis

If you wish, you can choose a taxi ride and book it in advance if necessary. There are different companies, such as Taxi Helsinki 0100 0700 – Worthy of your trust.

From the center of Helsinki to Hotel Rantapuisto

Rantapuisto is located in Ramsinniemi in Vuosaari and its address is Furuborginkatu 3. If you want to use public transport, you can get to the hotel from the center of Helsinki by metro and bus. The price of a single ticket for zone AB is 3.20 euros. Due to bridge renovation, the metro will not run to Vuosaari during the summer of 2025, so bus services will be arranged from Itäkeskus. Do the following: get on the metro from the Central Railway Station to Itäkeskus and change to bus 99V, which runs via Rastila to Vuosaari. Bus 99V will depart from bay 11. From Vuosaari metro station, continue by bus no. 817. It drives directly in front of Rantapuisto. The bus runs once an hour from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the timetable is at Bus 817. The summer schedule has not yet been published, so it is advisable to check it before travelling.

If you like walking, you can get to the hotel by getting off the bus at the Meri-Rastila stop. From there, bus number 560 takes you close to the hotel. Get off at the bus terminus and continue on foot. The walking journey takes about 13 minutes. If you wish to walk the entire distance, it will take about half an hour.
