God surprises us!
In the Bible, there are many stories of situations where God does something in a completely different way than we would expect.
The Gospel of John (4:4-) tells how Jesus met with a Samaritan woman at the well of Sychar. On a seemingly normal day, the woman went to get water from the well. She had no idea of how this simple chore would change her life.
There are two levels in this Gospel description: natural and supernatural. The woman came to the well to draw out water that would satisfy her thirst on a hot day – but when she met Jesus, she received living water. Jesus told her that the water would become a well that would “spring up into everlasting life”.
The same way the Samaritan woman experienced the greatest surprise of her life, our everyday lives can be full of surprises as we meet Jesus. He is interested in us and the situations in our lives.
This year, we’ll have guest speakers coming all the way from Asia, as well as domestic speakers.
